Garlic Scone Recipe - Scone But Not Forgotten
Submitted By: Joe Donnely
Ingredients
1 cup milk
1 clove garlic, minced
2 cups self-rising flour
2 TBS. butter
1/2 cup cheddar grated cheddar cheese
1 pinch salt

Directions
Preheat the oven at 425 deg F / 220 deg C and grease a baking sheet lightly. In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt together. Rub in the butter until the mixture looks like coarse breadcrumbs. Add in the garlic, the grated cheese and salt to mixture. Pour in milk, setting aside 1 tsp. of milk for glazing the scones. Mix together. Place onto a lightly floured area and knead lightly. Shape dough to form a 1 inch thick round. Cut dough round into 8 pieces. Place on a greased baking sheet and brush with remaining milk. Bake in oven for 10 to 20 minutes - until the scones are a light brown color.
Serve hot or let cool on a wire rack.
